Jetset Norwood

Since 2001 Jetset Norwood has had the pleasure of accepting students from the Adelaide Hospitality and Tourism School for structured Work Experience placements. We believe that Work Experience is an integral component of training for the tourism industry as it allows students to learn ‘on the job’ as well as to develop networks for potential future employment.

We have found the students from Adelaide Hospitality and Tourism School to be well prepared for their Work Experience placements. Many students have come to us with excellent grounding in the fundamentals of office procedures relevant to the travel industry as well as a desire to learn.

During the 11 year period we have hosted students on Work Experience, 7 students have entered the industry after having been offered full time employment with Jetset Norwood as a direct result of their Work Experience placements, an endorsement of the quality of the individuals as well as the training they have received from the Adelaide Hospitality and Tourism School.

The Office Bar Hotel

The Office Bar Hotel at 110 Pirie Street has taken in approximately twenty Certificate II students on work placements over the past 18 months, in that time four of these students have either completed Certificate III Traineeships or have been employed full time in the Business, I believe many more of these have gone on to full time careers in the industry.

The students have arrived well trained with on the job experience enhancing their skills within a short period of time in lieu of Training a junior from scratch as has often been the experience in the past.

We are always happy to entertain work placements as we view it as an excellent source of quality well trained staff without incurring expensive advertising costs and time consuming interviews.

We look forward to hosting many more in the future.
